We seek a Senior/Principle Research Associate to be responsible for performing live-tissue sectioning, culturing, and assessment.


  • Develop, qualify and execute assays with fixed- and live-tissues utilizing mouse, cynomolgus monkey and human tissue sections and blood samples
  • Work with CROs, collaborators and partners to transfer samples and data into, or out of, Akriveia, as appropriate
  • Identify and integrate technologies that improve or expand the ability to develop assays with blood and tissues by working with teammates, collaborators, vendors, and staying abreast of the literature
  • Enter all data into laboratory notebooks and databases on a daily basis and provide weekly progress reports for management review
  • Regular participation and presentation of data and analyses at department meetings


  • BS or BA and 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience or MS with 3+ years or relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience performing several of the following techniques: live and fixed tissue sectioning, culturing live tissue sections, histology and immunohistochemistry
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to contribute constructively to discussions
  • Goal oriented, organized, capable of prioritizing and working on multiple projects, and able to execute to timelines that meet company goals
  • Work well in a cross functional team environment, both independently as well as be willing to help others
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Driven by a desire to create the next generation of immunotherapy based cancer therapeutics and the vision to offer cancer patients efficacious and tolerable new therapies that extend and improve their lives
