We seek a Senior Scientist to lead our Immunology Assay group who will be responsible for ex vivo bioassays and FACS analyses for the characterization of immuno-oncology focused protein therapeutics.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project teams and in vivo biology group to identify the appropriate analyses for the assessment of tumor and immune responses
  • Develop, qualify, perform assays and analyze data utilizing the appropriate statistical analyses
  • Work with CROs, collaborators and partners to transfer samples, data and protocols both into, or out of, Akriveia
  • Identify and integrate technologies that improve or expand the ability to assess molecules by working with teammates, collaborators, vendors, and staying abreast of the literature
  • Enter all data into laboratory notebooks and databases on a daily basis and ensure staff members do so, approve weekly progress reports from staff, and generate weekly summary reports for management
  • Regular participation and presentation of data and analyses at Project Team and department meetings
  • Provide proper training of staff and continue to explore opportunities to expand their responsibilities and capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., post-doctoral experience and +3 years in the field of immunology, immuno-oncology or other relevant field; ideally, with 2+ years’ experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
  • Technical experience in the development, qualification and execution of ex vivo assays, such as antibody effector function, MLR, T cell proliferation and FACS analyses for immune cell populations from mice, cynomolgus monkeys and humans
  • Experience managing staff is a plus
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry techniques is desirable
  • A track record of innovation and scientific rigor, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to contribute constructively to discussions
  • Goal oriented, organized, capable of prioritizing and working on multiple projects, and able to execute to timelines that meet company goals
  • Work well in a cross functional team environment, both independently as well as be willing to help others
  • Provide proper training of staff and continue to explore opportunities to expand their responsibilities and capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
