We seek a Scientist for our Protein Production Team who will be responsible for mammalian expression and protein purification of protein therapeutic molecules.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize and perform the mammalian expression and purification of engineered protein
  • therapeutics that meet Akriveia quality requirements and project timelines
  • Work with CROs, collaborators and partners to transfer samples, data and protocols into, or out of, Akriveia, as appropriate
  • Identify and integrate technologies that improve or expand the ability to produce molecules by working with teammates, collaborators, vendors, and staying abreast of the literature
  • Enter all data into laboratory notebooks and databases on a daily basis, generate weekly summary reports for management review, and create CofAs for release of protein lots
  • Regular participation and presentation of data and analyses at project team and department meetings

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, and post-doctoral or equivalent experience with protein expression or protein purification
  • Technical expertise with CHO and HEK293 transient and stable expression platforms
  • Or Technical experience with protein purification using FPLC and Protein A, CEX and SEC columns from small scale to gram levels
  • Experience with the following is desirable; robotics, high throughput expression or purification platforms, molecular biology, protein crystallization and modeling, or bioanalytical characterization techniques
  • A track record of innovation and scientific rigor, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to contribute constructively to discussions
  • Goal oriented, organized, capable of prioritizing and working on multiple projects, and able to execute to timelines that meet company goals
  • Work well in a cross functional team environment, both independently as well as be willing to help others
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Driven by a desire to create the next generation of immunotherapy based cancer therapeutics and the vision to offer cancer patients efficacious and tolerable new therapies that extend and improve their lives
