We seek a Principle Research Associate in our Immunology Assay group who be responsible for the development, qualification, and execution of FACS analyses for the characterization of immuno-oncology focused protein therapeutics.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Project Teams and the In Vivo group to identify the appropriate FACS analyses to assess tumor and immune responses from mouse, cyno and human samples and other sources of cells
  • Develop protocols, qualify assays, perform analyses, and analyze data
  • Additionally, contribute to development and execution of in vivo experiments and ex vivo bioassays
  • Work with CROs, collaborators and partners to transfer data and protocols both into, or out of, Akriveia, as appropriate
  • Identify and integrate technologies that improve or expand the ability to assess molecules, by working with teammates, collaborators, vendors, and staying abreast of the literature
  • Enter all data into laboratory notebooks and databases on a daily basis and provide weekly progress reports for management review
  • Regular participation and presentation of data and analyses at Project Team and department meetings

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in a scientific discipline and 8+ years or MS in a scientific discipline and 5+ in the field FACS, or other relevant fields; ideally, with 5+ years’ experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
  • Technical experience in the development, qualification and execution FACS analyses for immune cell populations from mice, cynomolgus monkeys and/or humans
  • Experience with animal models for oncology or immunology, ex vivo immunology assays or immunohistochemistry techniques is desirable
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to contribute constructively to discussions
  • Goal oriented, organized, capable of prioritizing and working on multiple projects, and able to execute to timelines that meet company goals
  • Work well in a cross functional team environment, both independently as well as be willing to help others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Driven by a desire to create the next generation of immunotherapy-based cancer therapeutics and the vision to offer cancer patients efficacious and tolerable new therapies that extend and improve their lives
