We are seeking a Senior Director/Vice President as the head of our Pre-Clinical Pharmacology team who will be responsible for in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays and the assessment of engineered protein therapeutics.


  • Establish Akriveia Pre-Clinical Laboratories in the Cambridge, MA area including the development of platforms for ELISAs, SPR, bioassays, FACS analyses, PBMC assays, PK, and immuno-oncology in vivo models
  • Establish assay and model oversight process and quality control guidelines, ensure data is rigorously analyzed and that delivery of assays and data meet project timelines
  • Ensure NIH “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals” guidelines are met and the appropriate review and IACUC procedures are in place, and all laboratory areas are maintained, safe and clean
  • Provide training of staff and continue to explore opportunities to expand their responsibilities and capabilities
  • Maintain a culture of innovation and continual improvement
  • Help to create and manage department budget
  • Oversee collaboration and outsourced work
  • Hold regular group meetings to review data and present at management meetings
  • Prepare and review regulatory filing and intellectual property documents


  • Ph.D., post-doctoral experience, and +10 years in the fields of immunology and/or oncology, preferably with extensive experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
  • Management role for the discovery and development of therapeutics, with technical experience in the development, qualification and execution of syngeneic, PDX, and/or xenograft tumor models, in vitro and ex vivo assays, and pharmacokinetic assays
  • Experience with models of autoimmunity and assessment techniques is desirable
  • Experience managing an IACUC and small animal facilities is desirable
  • Experience with regulatory filings is desirable
  • A track record of innovation and scientific rigor, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to contribute constructively to discussions
  • Goal oriented, organized, capable of prioritizing across multiple projects, and able to execute to timelines that meet company goals
  • Thrive in a cross functional team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
